    R3: Our main focus to automate test cases is to do Regression testing, Smoke testing and Sanity testing.

    R4: Depends on Test case scenario complexity. I did automate 2-3 test scenarios per day when the complexity was limited.

    • Development and maintenance time is more.

    • Test Script debugging is an issue.

    Q4: Open source or proprietary?

    R4: I prefer open source. Open source software automation tools are available to use, and in some cases, can serve as an out-of-the-box solution to guide automated testing.

    R3: The new product should cover the most popular types of tests including API, smoke and acceptance tests. It will be useful for most developers.

    R4: Not enough technical skills to build more successful automation. Also, management does not understand what it takes to successfully automate.
